| NBC's coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympics will go from February 13th until the 28th, with all of the major events covered. On Saturday there will be Alpine skiing, freestyle skiing, speed skating, ski jumping and the biathlon. This Valentine's day Sunday will add in a few more events with those including the Nordic combined and the luge. Monday will see snowboarding in the spotlight as well as figure skating and speed skating. Fans of hockey will have to wait a bit to see their sport, as NBC has that scheduled to start on 2/25. On the final day of the games, Sunday February 28th, there will be just two events, hockey and cross country.

Some periods of blocking has been visible in the pattern over the late summer and fall months over SE Canada and the Davis Strait. This is a little displaced to the south of a traditional Greenland block and matches up well with the SST's. This could provide some very favorable scenarios for suppressed systems as we head through winter during AO periods.
