| When the mercury plunges and the furnace seems to run constantly, we humans aren't the only ones to experience dehydrated skin as a result of all that dry air circulating in our homes. Dogs, too, are prone to dry skin, coats and noses in the wintertime. While dogs' dry skin, coat and especially their noses sometimes indicate a medical problem, often when these symptoms occur in the winter it is just a result of overexposure to inside air that is too dry.

I can obviously jet set around the world in any given day but the workout can be done almost anywhere, and anytime of the day and it gives me a chance to digress and regroup from the usual stuff going on and is also a change to recapture and recoup some of that lost energy that dissipates in other strivings.

I was able to climb some hills with my Atlas snowshoes, and for the first time, I actually began to enjoy a winter sport. Not being a big winter sport fan, this was a way for me to enjoy the great outdoors without fear of falling. I am actually trying to convince my 77 year old mother to try these, as she still goes out walking in the depths of winter, and I think she would feel safer in properly fitted Atlas snowshoes.
