| The Spring River tends to be cloudier than other trout streams. If you tie your own flies, try adding some white or chartreuse rubber legs or tails to your patterns. Any other flashy fish attracting material such as flashabou or crystal flash will also likely improve your success. The trout in Spring River tend to avoid the light and hide in the deeper/shaded slots so be prepared to use high stick nymphing techniques and add some weight to your rig to get it down deep. If your flies aren't dragging bottom, and even getting hung up with regularity, you likely aren't fishing deep enough for Spring River trout.

After breakfast, it into the warming "porch" to layer up.
