| Living in Southern CA, we are accustomed to pleasant winters, Jim. In fact, I like winter better than summer here. It has been beautiful lately. I do my daily walk in shorts and a T shirt most of the time, occasionally adding a sweatshirt. My brother lives in Ann Arbor, MI, so I often check the weather in Detroit to see what he's getting. This week Detroit is forecast to have at least one day over 70! Warmer in Detroit than in LA in March? That doesn't happen very often.

You will also need a nice saw to cut the wood with, either a power saw or a good wood cutting hand saw works fine, a vise to hold your wood securely while cutting it, ruler or tape measure to measure your wood pieces, and either your choice of nails, screws or wood glue to secure the pieces of wood together, you will also need either a jigsaw or a hole saw attachment for a drill, to make the entrance hole for the Woodpeckers.

The big trouble this year, as most parents know, has been with toy recalls. One of the hot toys this year, Aqua Dots, was recently recalled due to having GHB in it. It was dangerous to children if swallowed. What can we say except, kids do indeed put things in their mouths. My daughter was devastated when she learned about that recall, and with a cousin promptly started to make signs to warn other kids about the danger.
