| Hotels built during the winter season in a variety of locations world wide to entice the traveller who wants something a little different. They are generally cold. But I'm gathering if your reading this article you figured that much out already. The first Ice hotel was built in Jukkasjarva Sweden in 1989, who would have figured the trend would take off so well? Even Sweden impresses upon its guests though they don't advise a stay longer than 2 days, they also advise you to keep your clothes in your thermal sleeping bag or they will freeze overnight and to wear a real good set of thermal underwear.

Why a Nalgene? When you do this you put boiling water near your skin and in your sleeping bag which is your only mean of survival through the cold winter night. You want to be able to absolutely trust the bottle you use for that. I know the Nalgene will not melt and the cap wont become loose because of the extreme heat. Its been tested again and again and again by myself and others. Also because its 1 liter and it makes it easy to calculate the amount of water I need to boil (or snow to melt).
